How did SBS impact your life?
This question is quite hard to answer in one sentence. For the lessons that are irreplaceable I will never be able to express my gratitude enough. SBS not only provided me with academic guidance but also with the environment where I was taught the basics of life. Through the years, SBS has taught me how to build relationships with people and always treat them with virtuous qualities. Most importantly, the school directed me to my career goal. I have to admit that I changed my aspirations many times, but with the right kind of exposure and open discussions with teachers, I realized what the right path was for me.

What is your impression of SBS?
I spent more than half of my life at SBS. If there is a place I'm as comfortable as being at home, it is the school. By seeing the same faces every day and being greeted by the same cheerful teachers, I can confidently say that SBS has given me a sense of family. And like family, you also gradually learn that you don't always have to be extremely fond of everyone, but just staying connected, being civil, and being there for each other is the most important thing. This is the place where I learnt the basics of social living. To say the least, SBS has shaped my personality, taught me invaluable lessons, and given me the motivation to do well in life, and for that, I am eternally grateful.

What was your inspiration for choosing this field?
I'll tell you a short story to make this make sense. Ever since I was young, I have had a passion for the arts and wanted to pursue it as my future profession. But in my sophomore year, when I started my IGCSE, I developed a major interest in science. I was intrigued by how the human body works. I see it as a remarkable machine. Because of this, it was quite hard to make a decision between the two subjects. However, throughout my high school years at SBS, I've come to realize that medicine is actually both art and science. Both are inseparable because to be a good doctor, one has to become a good artist with sufficient scientific knowledge. That 1s when it became clear to me that I wanted to go to medical school. I was lucky enough to have a lot of great teachers, but one, in particular, shaped the person I am today: Ms. Lauren. She was my biology teacher, and with all the education and advice that she has provided me with, I was able to achieve my goal. I was truly inspired by her.

How will you contribute to society after graduating?
In certain circumstances, a doctor 1s advice can mean the difference between life and death. Being a doctor was, for me, the ultimate opportunity to help others. Doctors save lives, but their importance also goes far beyond that. Doctors are responsible for increased life expectancy. They make a difference by helping patients minimize pain, recover from diseases, or learn to live with a disabling injury. A patient 1s ability to enjoy life, even if they can1t be cured, makes a huge difference to them and to their families.
